FAMILIES FIRST PLATFORM

an initiative of Faith in Indiana and Act Indiana

We Believe: Families Belong Together ∙ Families Care for Each Other ∙ Families Count on Opportunity

We Call for: Treatment Not Incarceration ∙ Citizenship Not Deportation ∙ Opportunity for All

We Pledge: To Activate 100,000 marginalized voters to hold candidates and elected officials at the local, state, and national level to implement a Families First Agenda

This year, Sheriffs, Prosecutors, Mayors, state legislators, and members of congress can join us to put families first and commit to take the following actions:

FAMILIES FIRST COUNTY

FAMILIES FIRST COUNTY

End Ice Detainers:It’s unconstitutional to hold immigrants for ICE without a warrant. Sheriffs must shut down the deportation pipeline.

End Money Bail: Provide pre-trial services within 24 hours to all people and release anyone who isn’t a flight rise or danger as ordered by Indiana Supreme Court. Implement a Ceasefire strategy proven to dramatically drop homicides in cities with focus on pathways out of streetlife.

FAMILIES FIRST STATE

FAMILIES FIRST STATE

A Healthy Start: Invest in quality Pre-K for every 4 year old, healthcare, and jail diversion programs for those suffering mental illness and addition. How? Indiana legislators are considering a cigarette tax which which could fund the aforementioned critical investments.

Fair Democracy: Open access to voting though extend polling location hours, early vote, absentee voting, end voter ID, and ensure fair impartial redistricting reform.

FAMILIES FIRST NATION

FAMILIES FIRST NATION

Protect Our Healthcare: Protect ACA, Medicaid, and Medicare by voting against repeal, restructuring, block grants, and any tax breaks that will drain more money from our social safety nets.

No New Funds For DHS: Reject any budget proposal that includes new funding for the department of Homeland Security, adding ICE agents, private detention centers to carry out their stated ethnic cleansing plan

TREATMENT, not incarceration

CITIZENSHIP, not deportation
