Job Title: Director of Donor Engagement
Salary Range: $80,000- $95,000 Depending on Experience
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana (temporarily remote due to Covid)

Faith in Indiana unites tens of thousands of people across faith, race, and place to work together for racial and economic justice in Indiana.
In the ten years since its founding, Faith in Indiana has grown from twenty congregations in a single city to six county chapters that engage 125 congregations and partner organizations.
Faith in Indiana and our chapters are run and led by our grassroots leaders. We center the leadership of Black people, immigrants, Muslims, returning citizens, women, and young people, the drivers of our campaigns for restorative justice, immigrant inclusion, healthcare for all, a caring economy, and freedom to vote.

Faith in Indiana understands we need a bigger more powerful social movement ecosystem in Indiana to achieve the change we want. That’s why we’ve helped to incubate a set of new organizations to put more power in the hands of ordinary people, including Act Indiana, a 501(c)4 sister organization, a voter engagement coordination hub, a communications hub, and more.
Faith in Indiana seeks an experienced fundraiser and organizer to build and scale our peer-to-peer donor organizing program. Faith in Indiana understands power is organized people and organized money.The person in this role believes that in order to achieve transformative change our movements must be funded by the communities at the center of injustice.

Short Term Goals & Outcomes
- Train, manage, and support teams of volunteer fundraisers and organizers to grow our monthly sustainer program to 500 members and raise at least $150,000 by the end 2023.
- Cultivate relationships with mission aligned major donors and build a peer-led campaign to grow multi-year commitments able to sustain progressive movement building in Indiana.
- Develop and maintain systems to move donors up the ladder of engagement including but not limited to collaborating across departments to align plans, manage and set up donor tracking systems, and develop materials to powerfully communicate our story.
- Lead reflections, evaluation, reporting, and learning processes to document and assess effectiveness of our donor organizing program both annually and in real time.
Long Term Goals & Outcomes
- Build a culture of fundraising across multiple centers of power that understand money to be abundant, liberatory, and a core source of our collective power.
- Develop a political home that advances the leadership and influence of Black people, women, and communities of color in the donor class.
- Develop financial stability for grassroots organizing, leadership development, and movement building in Indiana.
- Build new fundraising models for Indiana’s grassroots movements that utilize all the tools in our toolbox to advance our mission – from 501c4, PAC, fee for service, and more.

- A passion for grassroots progressive political change and shifting power to marginalized communities.
- 5-10 years of experience in some combination of grassroots fundraising, major donor fundraising, and other relevant social change and/or political organizing.
- An organizer with experience building new relationships and developing people to take risks they never thought were possible.
- Relentless, when obstacles get in your way, you figure out a path forward, exuding positivity that helps those around you stay the course.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple streams of work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Excellent communicator who writes quickly and persuasively in a variety of mediums.
- Innovative and strategic – incorporating new and effective systems and technology that amplify and optimize all aspects of the work
- Recognize the impact of white supremacy on all of our lives and bring racial equity, inclusion, and intersectionality to all levels of our work.
While not required, a strong candidate might have one or more of the following:
- Community roots in Indiana or meaningful connections to the cultural or political landscape of Indiana.
- Experience working in or with Black churches, Spanish-speaking immigrant communities, and religious minorities.
- A history of active involvement in social movements that work to support racial justice, immigrant rights, economic justice and/or protect our democracy.
This is a full-time, salaried position with a base salary range of $80,000- 95,000, commensurate with skills and experience, with generous benefits including full medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 5% retirement match after 2 years, and generous paid time off. We also provide a cell phone with unlimited talk and data and a computer at the beginning of employment.
Regular in-state travel and infrequent out-of-state travel is required. Work related expenses are reimbursed according to organizational policy.
