Our Narrative Drumbeat
Indiana’s Race-Class Narrative is an empirically-tested narrative on race and class that neutralizes the use of dog-whistle racism to win on the issues we care about. It has been used across the United States and internationally to win policy and electoral victories.
Faith in Indiana is proud to be an early adopter of Race Class Narrative, partnering with Heather McGhee, Anat Shenker-Osorio, Ian Haney López, Lake Research Partners, Brilliant Corners, SEIU and Demos to conduct initial research in 2017 with the goal of developing a narrative on race and class that neutralizes the use of dog-whistle racism, resonates with our base, especially people of color, and unites the largest possible group of white people on our economic and racial justice policy solutions.
The Indiana Race-Class Narrative Hub, housed at Faith in Indiana. We’ve trained hundreds of faith leaders, communicators, and partners in this winning narrative framework. At the heart of this narrative work is an effort to change the public conversation around race in Indiana. Building an authentic multiracial democracy must move us from racial polarization towards a shared sense of solidarity around an economy that benefits everyone.
