Organizer Training Hub

Organizer Training Hub

Faith in Indiana’s central organizational strategy is unleashing human agency – equipping people who are accustomed to thinking of themselves as consumers, clients, or by-standers and inviting them to become the protagonists in the public decisions that shape our lives.

There are no short-cuts to building deep, grounded, powerful and people- centered organizing organizations and movements. This requires strategic leadership, deep craft, core competencies, mature political imagination, tremendous creativity, and must be grounded in the particular context of our place and our times.

For nearly a decade, Faith in Indiana has trained hundreds of grassroots leaders and organizers in the proven disciplines of community organizing. We’re proud to be one of the founders - alongside organizers from Ohio, Minnesota, and Michigan - of the Midwest Training Hub launched in 2021, to provide training opportunities for power building groups across the Midwest.

In Indiana, we’re building a home grown training team of senior organizers, to anchor our training curriculum that includes a week-long training program for experienced grassroots volunteers, a new organizer track for professionals learning the basics, and a cohort for senior organizers developing a team.

Collaborating organizations include:  Faith in Indiana, Indiana State Teachers Association, Indiana Task FORCE, Indiana Muslim Advocacy Network, and more.
